NYC Townhouse Architects
What is a Townhouse? A townhouse is a single family or two family row house that is attached to other houses or buildings. Typically townhouses are 3 to 5 stories tall narrow structures.
What is the Difference Between a Townhouse and a Brownstone? A Brownstone is a building who’s facade is literally made of Brown Stone. The brown stones used is a type of sandstone. Some brownstones are townhouses and some are multifamily buildings. In NYC people often incorrectly refer to all Townhouses as Brownstones. It is only a brownstone if it is made with a brownish sandstone.
